Introduction

The Grove Citizens Police Academy is a series of classes covering police activity. If you have ever wondered why the police do things a certain way, this is the oppourtunity to learn. Procedures, rules and the law are explained and you will have the chance to participate in mock situations. Put yourself in an officers shoes. Make a traffic stop or handle a domestic situation. It's at these classes and it's probably some of the best fun you will have this year.

To improve the general understanding of policing among the citizens of Grove.

To educate citizens about the abilities, and limitations of the Police Department and it's officers

To provide citizens with a perspective of the police community, therby enabling citizens to make a more informed judgement about law enforcement .

To enhance the image of the Grove Police Department within the community it serves.

To Assist & rise funs to help Grove Police Department purchase items not in the regular budget.

Purpose

To present and promote a positive image of the Grove Police Department and law enforcement. The Grove Police Department's constitutionally mandated functions are to promote awareness, support and assist citizens when requested. The Grove Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Association is a non-profit organization that utilizes funds generated through its activities to support its purposes and objectives.
